HOT Grant Applications

The 2020-21 HOT Grant Application is now open.  Applications must be received by Friday, August 21, 2020 at 4:00pm.

Primarily, the HOT grants are utilized for advertising an event held in the Baytown city limits to a population outside the Baytown area, or for advertising historical preservation and restoration projects and resources.

All non-profit organizations that wish to request HOT monies for fiscal year 2020 – 2021 (October 1 – September 30), are required to apply by filling out the attached application during this enrollment period. This application needs to be filled out and received by the Baytown Tourism Office no later than Friday, August 21, 2020 by 4:00 PM.

If your organization is planning to apply, please submit a letter of intent by Friday, August 7, 2020 to tourism@baytown.org (only one respondent per organization is necessary).

Please note a few changes about this upcoming year:

  • The Tourism division is now located at 311 W. Texas Ave in the former Brunson Theater building; however, you may still drop them off at City Hall. Due to the current pandemic, we do request applications be mailed or emailed.

  • The disbursement process has been updated. Each qualifying organization applying for advertising monies for an event can request up to 50% of the approved funds prior to the event, and then the remaining balance after the event (along with the Post Event form, receipts, etc). You may also elect full reimbursement after the event.

The Baytown Tourism Team recognizes this year has presented some challenges, and will no doubt present more. The hospitality and tourism industry has been severely impacted, not just in our region, but the world over.  We continue to work with industry leaders and Baytown hotel properties to predict future travel patterns and relay industry messaging. This year will look different for us all in terms of events and how they look.

Please feel free to contact the Tourism Division with any questions you may have about the application, the process, marketing, or simply your ideas at tourism@baytown.org or 281-691-6710.
