If you’re considering a request for a donation to a charity, do some research before you give. By finding out as much as you can about the charity, you can avoid fraudsters who try to take advantage of your generosity. Here are tips to help make sure your charitable contributions are put to good use. ftc.gov/charityfraud
Volunteer Registration Form
If you would like to volunteer in the recovery efforts taking place in Baytown, the City of Baytown would like to get some information from you about your organization.
Contractors must register with the City of Baytown
The city is requiring all contractors to obtain a certificate from the city to operate within the city. Should a citizen be approached by someone claiming to be a contractor offering to help, we have recommended our citizens to ask to see this certificate.
To assist our citizens with the path to recovery, we have posted an image of this certificate on our website and Facebook page along with other tips, links, phone numbers and even an app for FEMA for OiS, Android and Blackberry devices.
